June 2019 Chapter Meeting
"Richland by the Numbers"
Get an insight into the demographics of Richland County, by the numbers! One of our county commissioners, Tony Vero, will give us an overview of our county's demographics, and how we are affected as employer and the community at large.
Anthony "Tony" Vero is currently a Commissioner serving Richland County, Ohio where he and the other 2 county commissioners are the taxing and budgeting authority for all of Richland County. They oversee 9 county departments (approximately 144 people) ranging from job and family services to human resources. Prior to winning election in November of 2016 for his current term Tony spent 10 years in human resources and labor relations for ArcelorMittal. His job responsibilities included managing payroll, benefits, and labor relations at the Marion and Shelby locations. Tony earned a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Akron School of Law, and he is licensed to practice law in the state of Ohio. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from Miami University, a place known as “the most beautiful campus that ever there was” according to Robert Frost. He is married to his beautiful wife Melanie (who also works in Human Resources) of nearly five years, and they have a 14-year old Golden Retriever named Molly and a 10-month old daughter named Aubriana who Melanie affectionately refers to as “Panda.”
